NDZ Live 010: Christian Chaney

The guys sit down with Fresno, CA, native and new FMFC striker Christian Chaney, discussing growing up with dual heritage, chasing the USL1 golden boot, leaving Fresno for Madison, and carpe-ing that diem. Formerly playing in Mexico, Malta, Armenia, CC9 brings a wealth of experience and a voracious appetite for scoring to a club long overdue for a prolific striker. Chaney is a big personality, someone who loves his family, and takes great pride in his background and culture — and his level of confidence ahead of this new campaign is infectious. The vibes are most certainly good at the moment, which is crucial being that we’re just a little over two weeks away from kicking things off down in Omaha.

DePaul University visits Breese tomorrow; let’s hope all goes well and that the weather cooperates as this will be a final competitive test going into the final weeks of preseason. Glaeser et al still have decisions to make on the roster; who of the trialists to offer contracts and who to send home (at least for the time being). It’s not an easy job trying to round out the squad at this point, but hopefully these trialists have shown their worth at this point. Time will tell, as they say.

I’ve gotta roll myself out of bed and get moving on to work, it’s been a long week with long days and I’m very much looking forward to being back at Breese tomorrow. I know I’m not the only one. If I see you there, please do stop over and say hello.
