In other club news, the 2nd round draw of the US Open Cup happened on Thursday, with Madison hosting the winner of Chicago House vs Bavarian United midweek the first week of April. Last year the Flamingos hosted Cleveland SC in the 2nd round and saw off the visitors with a 3-0 win, on a cold and blustery night on the isthmus. The Lamar Hunt US Open Cup is the oldest ongoing association football competition in the United States, involving clubs from the amateur level all the way up through the first division.
Finally, the Polar Plunge is this weekend, Mitch, Grant, and I (Andrew) will be participating alongside numerous FMFC front office, technical staff, and potentially even some players. The Plunge benefits Special Olympics Wisconsin (SOWI), who provides year-round sports opportunities to more than 10000 athletes, of any age and skill level, across the state.
